This portrait evolved from my sprained ankle incident back in October. As I lay in the bed of my pick up with ice on my ankle waiting for my pal Stephie (Angel Food Bakery) to notify her staff that she was taking me to urgent care, I met Dave Clayton...he was visiting from Brazil and said 'hey, you do the pet portraits...you've got to paint my pugs!". So I did, and now this painting resides in Brazil. Godzilla sadly passed away so we gave him a halo, King Kong, of course, got the crown and Space Godzilla is from Brazil, so he got the Brazillian Flag. I love how this turned out...let me know if you have a pug you would like me to paint!

Pug Studies...
New Work, Pet Portraits3 CommentsYesterday I spent some time googling photos of PUGS and trying to draw them ...I've only met a few, so my Pug Sense is lacking. I used purplish/blue to mark the ones I thought most successful, yellow for the 2nd tier and turquoise for nice try, but not so great. I would love your feedback especially from you Pug owners! The thought behind this is to capture a new breed each week to add to my new Personalized Pet Portrait Print option Portfolio, these are beautiful ready to hang mounted and laminated box prints - complete with your pet's name on the banner and custom colors.
